The Regional Innovation Valleys (RIVs) initiative is one of 25 actions of the New European Innovation Agenda. It aims to unlock Europe’s full innovation potential by connecting regions with varying levels of innovation and addressing societal challenges through cutting-edge technology. By leveraging their competitive advantages and complementary strengths, participating regions collaborate to bridge the innovation gap and enhance Research & Innovation ecosystems.

The RIVCircular project fosters collaboration among eight European regions and territories: Madrid, Extremadura and Greece (Southern Europe), Haute de France and Vienna (Central Europe), Innlandet (Northern Europe), and Kosice and Kiev-Oblast (Eastern Europe).

Focusing on five key priorities within the circular economy, the project aims to drive progress in:

• Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) circularity

• Circular energy integration: valorising local waste streams for industrial efficiency

• Electric Vehicles (EV) Batteries Recycling and Reuse

• Circular Economy in the Textile Industry

• Digital solutions for Circular Economy
